Editing
Simply put, editing is one of the most critical (and often least understood) components of record production.

Skillful editing contributes immensely to the musical impact of your performance, and can often "make or break" a recording.
Because of this—and because of its proven expertise in this area—Encore Consultants LLC edits all of its productions. We believe this is the best way to ensure a excellence in the artistic and technical aspects for every recording.

Artists often have varying degrees of familiarity with the editing phase of the recording process, and are frequently amazed by what digital technology offers in undetectable, transparent, and enhancing editing options.
Encore Consultants LLC always begins this process with the creation of a detailed, accurate editing map. Scores are marked, cue sheets are completed, and artistic considerations are thoroughly reviewed in preparation for editing.
Wherever possible, we prefer to use complete takes. The practicalities of recording "on budget and on time," however, mean that a variety of post-production possibilities must be judiciously applied while simultaneously respecting the artistic intent of the performance.

Ultimately, this work is extremely labor intense, and requires:
- Superb hearing, or "great ears"
- Meticulous documentation
- A thorough, and "musical" grasp of the score
- Constant and abiding respect for the artists' vision
- The technical skill to seamlessly apply undetectable edits in today's digital domain
